Realistic timeline:
- Search visibility: 7–14 days for skill / niche changes to re-index in Upwork search
- Invite volume: 2–3 weeks once the algorithm catches up
- Proposal reply rate: immediate (next batch of proposals already uses the new template)
- Rate raises: 1–2 contracts to hold the new rate without losing close-rate
- JSS recovery: 4–6 closed contracts
Most freelancers see invite volume change within 30 days. Send me a screenshot at the 30-day mark — I genuinely like seeing the data.
