Yes — every tool on this page is free. No ads, no paywall, no signup. You only need the reel link.
Can I download just the audio (MP3) from a reel?
Yes. On the Save Reel tab, click MP3 audio instead of Download MP4. ReelGrab extracts the audio stream from the reel and re-encodes it to a clean MP3 you can re-use as a trending sound.
How does the niche hashtag generator work?
Paste 3–5 reel URLs from your niche on the Hashtag Generator tab. ReelGrab reads each reel's caption, pulls out every hashtag used, and returns a single ranked list — sorted by how many of your input reels used each tag. That gives you hashtags real creators in your niche actually use, not a generic SEO list.
What does the caption extractor return?
On the Caption + Tags tab you get the full caption text (copy-able), every hashtag as an individual one-click-copy chip plus a "copy all" formatted for an Instagram paste, every @-mention, and the reel's view / like / comment / duration / posting-date stats.
Can I download private reels?
No. ReelGrab only works for public reels. Private accounts require a logged-in session, and we deliberately don't store your Instagram credentials.
Does Instagram know I'm downloading?
Instagram sees the request the same way it does any browser playing the reel. ReelGrab fetches the MP4 stream from Instagram's CDN — there's no special signal.
Why did I get a "rate limited" error?
Instagram throttles anonymous requests aggressively, especially when the hashtag generator pulls several reels in a row. Wait 30–60 seconds and try again — the block almost always clears within a minute.
What about copyright?
Only download content you have the right to save. The reel's creator still owns it — ReelGrab is a download tool, not a re-publishing license.
Does it work for Instagram posts and IGTV?
Yes. Public posts (/p/ URLs) and IGTV (/tv/ URLs) are supported alongside reels (/reel/) on every tab.
